Autism news: Every Parent at Christmas
December 17, 2024
Greetings!

Sometimes it can be hard to find something fun to do at Christmastime when you have a child with autism. We have found that, no matter what my son’s limitations are, we can almost always manage a drive to see some Christmas lights, which has become one of our favorite seasonal activities.

Mount Dora’s Annual Christmas Lights Festival

This year in downtown Mount Dora, we found what I believe to be the most exciting and memorable Christmas light presentation in central Florida. Mount Dora is a small town that you wouldn’t expect to rival the big cities with their light display. But that’s exactly what they’ve done.

It appears they have put forth a major effort to cover the entire area of downtown Mount Dora with Christmas lights. Mount Dora's Annual Christmas Lights Festival is a family-friendly event that takes place each evening this season until January 9, 2025.

Don’t live near central Florida? Driving around your own neighborhood may be entertaining enough. And if you do some searching, you’ll likely find that SOMEONE in your area loves to bring their decorations to the next level.

Every Parent at Christmas

Sometimes we autism parents are so busy that it’s hard to find time to have any fun. If that’s you, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered.

This Every Parent at Christmas video will give you four minutes and six seconds of comedy (so you can get back to your busy schedule), brought to you by the young Holderness boy, who I think is a budding and talented comedian.

Do you think he has every parent at Christmas pegged?

I hope you have a wonderful, Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

Warm Regards,

Kay Donato
